Boiled Eggs: The Recipe You Never Knew You Needed

I know what you’re already thinking. Boiled eggs? Who needs a recipe for boiled eggs? All you have to do is.. well.. boil them. This is true, but the process, time, and temperature all really do matter when it comes to the perfect boiled egg. Luckily for you, I have found that perfect process that leaves you with the best boiled eggs every time!

Easily peeled, bright yellow centered, not too mushy yet not overly dry.. yep, that’s the best boiled egg. I love to make a lot of these at one time as a sort of meal prep. They are perfect to add to a breakfast, lunch, or to eat as a snack on their own.

*ProTip: once ready to be peeled, hold the eggs under cold running water while peeling them. This helps separate the egg from the shell much easier and faster!

Ingredients:

  • Eggs, of course! ha

Directions:

Place eggs in a pot and fill with water until just covered. Put pot onto the stove and immediately set your timer for 15 minutes. Bring water to a boil then reduce heat to medium low and let eggs continue to lightly boil until the timer is up. After the 15 minutes, immediately place the pot under cold running water in the sink. Let the water run until the water in the pot has turned cold then let eggs sit for an additional 5 minutes.

Peel the eggs under cold running water and store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Enjoy!
